Here at Veltris, you’ll find that Walt’s quote has been printed out and tacked above my desk. Not only does it speak to the philosophy behind our brand, but it’s words that everyone, regardless of industry, should try to live by.

Back in 2009, product design was still just a budding idea. The digital bubble had burst and any lingering dreams of Silicon Valley’s “tech boom” evaporated away- kind of like the last gold rush. I grew up here in the Bay Area, but starting at Goldman-Sachs after college, I found myself following a different path. Through it all, I kept looking for something more: an opportunity.

Tech was my chance to try and learn something completely new. My first real foray into startups, Boutine, established a platform to showcase online womenswear boutiques. While growth was strong and we ended up raising some solid investment, the project was eventually acquired for its technology. Assembling a tech team to build Boutine wasn’t easy to begin with, but it was developing our process to build and launch a product that took the most effort. As I started to consider the options for my next move, I realized the opportunity I’d been searching for was sitting right in front of me.

We started with a couple of clients and soon grew those to double-digits. By the end of the year, we had over 30 people on staff. It’s incredible to think that we’ve now grown into a company of over 120 in just under four years- and we’ve tapped into the of one of the greatest communities in the world: The San Francisco Bay Area.

If you asked us to define the most important values to our team, we could talk about how we’re true partners in the entire process of product development, from start to finish. We could tell you how we’re the experts and have the resources in place to take on any sort of project that is sent our way. We could do that, but I believe that sharing our insights along the way, through all the bumps in the road, our highs and lows, our successes and our progression, would be a much better opportunity to convey who we really are — both as individuals and as a brand.

So I invite you to read a little more about us, as we take on the new challenge of putting our expertise out there for the world to see. Yes, it’s just a blog, but we’re eager to share who we are and what we’re all about.
