The future of healthcare and how technology needs to transform the industry.

Transforming the traditional medical system, making it more efficient, convenient and personalized. A strategic move away from a hospital-centric approach to a patient-centric approach.

It is a health service system that uses technology such as wearable devices, IoT, and mobile internet to dynamically access information, connect people and institutions related to healthcare. This is followed by actively responding to medical ecosystem needs in an intelligent manner.

Smart healthcare can promote interaction between all parties in the healthcare field, ensure that participants get the services they need, help the parties make informed decisions, and facilitate the rational allocation of resources. In short, smart healthcare is a higher stage of information organization and consumption in the medical field.

With the development of information technology, the concept of smart healthcare has gradually come to the forefront. It uses a new generation of information technologies, such as the internet of things (loT), big data, 5G, cloud computing, and artificial intelligence. These technologies are widely used in all aspects of smart healthcare.

‘’Smart healthcare is not just a simple technological advancement, but an all-round, multi-level change.’’

Doctors – intelligent clinical decision support systems to assist and improve diagnosis. Laboratory Information Management System, Picture Archiving and Communication Systems (PACS), Electronic Health Records (EHR) etc. More precise surgery can be achieved through surgical robots and mixed reality technology.

Patients – wearable devices, medical assistance through virtual assistants

Hospitals – radio-frequency identification (RFID) technology can be used to manage personnel materials and the supply chain, using integrated management platforms to collect information and assist decision-making.

Scientific Research Institutions – Use machine learning algorithms instead of manual drug screening and to find suitable subjects using big data.

Disease Prevention & Monitoring – Analyzing big data sets can provide doctors and nurses with more knowledge and can see the impact of AI on disease prevention in the future.

Diagnosis & Treatment – Radiological image analysis, retinal scanning or genomic-based precision medicine

Impact:

Technology is set to have an unprecedented impact on healthcare in building the foundation towards a holistic healthcare ecosystem. The idea of virtual healthcare has been around before the world was struck by the pandemic posing an utter challenge to the traditional healthcare system. Amid this situation, telemedicine is emerging as a viable option to improve efficiency, enhance resilience, and anticipate risks.

The prospects for smart healthcare are vast. For individual users, smart healthcare can facilitate better self-health management. Timely and appropriate medical services can be accessed when needed, and the delivery of medical services will be more personalized.

With regard to macro decision-making, smart healthcare can improve the status quo of medical resource inequality, push the process of medical reform, promote the implementation of prevention strategies, and reduce social medical costs.

Conclusion:

We believe that Data & AI have an important role to play in the healthcare offerings of the future.
Given the rapid advances in AI for imaging analysis, it seems likely that most radiology and pathology images will be examined at some point by a machine.

Embracing technology and analyzing big data sets can provide doctors and nurses with more knowledge than ever before. Keeping an eye on these areas of the healthcare industry, one can see the impact of Data & AI driven systems on disease prevention in the future.

Over time, human clinicians may move toward tasks and job designs that draw on uniquely human skills like empathy, persuasion and big-picture integration.
