The 3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) is a group of 7 telecommunications standard development organizations (ARIB, ATIS, CCSA, ETSI, TSG, ITU, and TTA) who came together to create and share the technical specifications for mobile networks. The main aim of such collaboration is to ensure that mobile phones and the connected networks function smoothly. They create rules and guidelines for all mobile networks such as 2G, 3G, 4G, LTE-Advanced, and 5G.
