Ad hoc Testing

As the name suggests, ad hoc testing is software testing that is conducted without any formal planning or documentation. This test is performed randomly by the tester without any formal notification. The tester uses their experience and creativity to test the functionality of the system and trace defects or unexpected behavior. As the test is unstructured, it can be used to check the readiness of an application before the formal testing is conducted. It facilitates identification of the areas where rigorous tests must be conducted later.
